Frequently asked questions

The questions we get on the phone most weeks, answered the same way we'd answer them live.

Service & scheduling

Do you work on residential systems?

No — Brendco is a commercial and institutional contractor. The exception is existing commercial clients who need help with a small residential property; we'll fit those in where the schedule allows.

How fast can you get someone on site?

Contract clients on a critical agreement have a four-hour target, day or night. Inside the Sacramento core radius, our average emergency arrival is about three hours. Outlying cities generally add an hour.

Do you charge extra for after-hours calls?

Non-contract customers pay a standard after-hours rate. Contract clients pay no overtime premium on emergency dispatch — that is one of the main reasons the agreements exist.

Can you work outside business hours to avoid disturbing tenants?

Yes, regularly. Rooftop changeouts, crane lifts and noisy work are usually scheduled for evenings or weekends and coordinated with building management in advance.

Pricing & billing

How is a service call priced?

A flat-rate diagnostic covers travel and up to one hour on site, and includes a written finding with photos. If you approve the repair during that visit, the diagnostic is credited toward the repair.

Will I get a quote before work starts?

Always, except when a safety condition requires immediate isolation of equipment. Quotes list manufacturer part numbers and labor hours separately.

Do you offer purchase-order and net-30 billing?

Yes, for property management companies, schools, nonprofits and government facilities. Invoicing and account questions go to finance@brendco.com.

How are maintenance agreements priced?

By equipment count, type and access difficulty, after a free walkthrough. There is no auto-renewal trap — agreements can be cancelled with 30 days' written notice.

Work quality & warranty

What warranty comes with your work?

One year on Brendco labor. Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty, and we file those claims for you when a covered component fails.

Do you subcontract technicians?

No. Mechanical service is performed by Brendco employees. We hire licensed specialists only for crane operation, electrical work beyond our scope, and abatement.

Will you tell me if equipment should be replaced instead of repaired?

Yes, with the arithmetic attached: repair cost, remaining service life, efficiency delta and expected payback. We quote replacement only when the numbers support it.

Are you licensed and insured?

California C-20 licensed, fully insured, and EPA Section 608 certified across the field team. Certificates of insurance are issued on request, usually the same day.

Working with us

What do I get after each maintenance visit?

A PDF report with the task list completed, readings taken, photographs of anything of concern, and a short plain-English summary of what needs attention next.

We inherited a building with no records. Can you help?

That's routine. The first visit builds an asset inventory with makes, models, serials, ages and condition ratings, which becomes the basis for a realistic maintenance and capital plan.

How do I reach you outside business hours?

Call 916-341-7495. Nights and weekends the line routes to the on-call coordinator, not a voicemail box.

Still have a question?

Write to us and a technician — not a call center — will answer it.
